SQA Exam Results Update

We are delighted to say congratulations to S4, 5 and 6 Beaconhurst pupils on this year’s excellent exam results. This has come about as a result of the pupils’ hard work and ambition to do well, combined with a range of new, academic initiatives, designed to support pupils to achieve the very best they can.

The S5 Higher results are the best in the school’s history with a pass rate of 93%. This is a 20% increase since 2014. Of these grades, 70% were A and B.

Our S4 pupils have also done very well. The pass rate for the National 5 exams is 86%. These results are especially impressive as most of our pupils sit eight subjects to ensure that they have not narrowed their options too much before making the all-important Higher choices, which they do in S3. Of those who sat eight subjects, 45% achieved all A’s or seven A’s and 1B.

The Advanced Higher results are strong again this year with a pass rate of 82%. Half of these grades are A or B. These results have supported our S6 pupils secure places on the university courses of their choice, including for medicine.

We are looking forward to welcoming all of our pupils back to the new session on the 24thand to continuing high levels of achievement in all of the activities which characterise the rounded Beaconhurst education.
