Saturday was an exciting day for all at Beaconhurst as we hosted our Open Morning amid clear, dry weather conditions. The varied programme of events on offer included the opening of 2 new activity based facilities at the school. The newly developed mountain bike skills area, designed and crafted by staff and pupils at the school is an exciting venture which will test and challenge the skills of our pupils. The new multi-purpose play area was also opened, by Karen Ross, Director of Performance Tennis , Tennis Scotland and there was a mixture of hockey skills and tennis skills showcased on it by our pupils. The Senior Debating Team excelled in their debate on an Independent Scotland and the Science and Modern Languages Department held fun and interactive sessions in their respective departments. Junior School pupils gave displays in their classrooms; Oklahoma stars provide a fabulous taster of what’s to come in the forthcoming musical production and those who caught the ‘surprise activity’ involving the secret dance crew and then the country dancing will have found something for everyone. We were especially pleased to see so many former pupils also join us on the day as well and it was great to see everyone supporting the school.
We have had great feedback from our parents on the event and we will be formalising this with an opportunity for all to comment. Thanks to all who came and supported us on the day – here are some lovely pictures, courtesy of Whyler Photography of some of the events to look at!
