Beaconhurst Christmas Lecture

This year’s Christmas lecture ( part of the ongoing academic enrichment programme) was delivered to senior pupils, parents and governors by columnist and fund raiser Charlotte Bray last Friday. Timed to coincide with the official opening of the new Stein Centre for senior pupils by former governor Mr John Stein OBE, this year’s topic was a discussion on whether we need superheroes and the role we can play in society today.

Charlotte gave a highly amusing talk with a serious undercurrent that reminded us of how important it is for people to make time to volunteer, help in any way they can and she was both aspirational and inspirational when talking about her own path to working  in the third/voluntary/charity sector. It was definitely food for thought and left the audience entertained but thoughtful.
