Physical Education at Beaconhurst is a fully inclusive, competitive and fun environment for all pupils from J1 to S6.
Sports on offer include Hockey, Football, Tennis, Triathlon and Golf.
There is a sports hall and a small gym within the school grounds, with more facilities at the University of Stirling which we utilise when required, such as all-weather pitches for school matches and a first-class athletics track and Olympic standard swimming pool used for training by Olympic medalists. Use of iPads and video are utilised in the class teaching.
The pupils will over the course of the school life will do a variety of activities, which are many and varied to allow them to take part in different skill bases. This will hopefully help them make a choice of an activity that they may pursue in their own time.
Within this area pupils are able to interact socially as part of a team. They learn to cooperate with each other and problem solve. They will develop a very good skill base in a variety of areas. They also have the potential to study this subject as an SQA subject which can be used in entry to university.
