The Beaconhurst House System is a core aspect of our ethos. The House System allows children to mix with different age groups and fosters a sense of community.
Throughout the week, we cover topics designed to promote team work and develop a sense of responsibility. Discussion pieces are chosen according to the interests of the House Tutors and pupils—for example, current affairs, wildlife, poverty, and social issues.
The House system gives our children the opportunity to give back to the local community and to the school: the Houses are actively involved in charity work, choosing a charity to support every year and fundraising for the cause, and each House takes part in the whole school eco drive.
