Beaconhurst’s dynamic Parent Teacher Association meets regularly to organise social and fundraising events for the Beaconhurst Community. These events include, for example, our popular Halloween fancy dress disco for the pupils, a Christmas fair, a Summer Ball for parents and a family Ceilidh.
Funds raised by the PTA are used for various purposes, including donations to our identified charity, which is currently Aberlour Child Care Trust: Scotland’s Children’s Charity.
Additionally, the PTA fundraises to support the Beaconhurst community. Recently, they have helped to provide a defibrillator for the school, hockey masks for the Senior School, storage for outdoor toys in the Junior School, and bike racks for our many triathletes and to encourage greener travel to school. The PTA is also supporting our forthcoming all-weather play area, which is currently in the school’s facilities development plan.
Parent volunteers run the school swap shop, which operates alongside the Beaconhurst Uniform Shop and sells used, but not abused, school wear. The swap shop provides a valuable service and also fundraises for the school, recently providing funds for new equipment for the Drama department and bike racks for the Nursery. For a list of items which the swap shop supplies please refer to the uniform list.
