Music, Drama (J3) & P.E., are taught by Senior School Subject Specialists

The initial years in the Junior School provide each pupil with a solid grounding in the core curricular areas within a happy, caring and stimulating environment. During the course of 2007-2008, pupils in J1-J3 will be introduced to the newly updated Oxford Reading Tree which will help to develop reading and comprehension skills using traditional, modern and interactive methodologies.

Mathematics is taught using IPM (Improving Primary Mathematics), an interactive, whole-class teaching approach where the emphasis is on oral and mental processes .

J4 – J6:

English, Mathematics, History, Geography, Science, Religious & Moral Education, Personal & Social Development.

Modern Languages,ICT, Art, Music, Drama, P.E.are taught by Senior School Subject Specialists.

The core curricular subjects are continued in the J4-J6 years . Languages are formally introduced, German in J4 and French in J5, and taught by Senior School language specialists.

These languages are continued into the Senior School.

During the stages of J4-J6, pupils learn to take on more responsibilities both within the classroom and the Junior School as a whole.
