Former Pupils

All former pupils of Beaconhurst School, The Beacon School and Hurst Grange School are eligible to become members of the Beaconhurst Former Pupils Club. The club organises reunions and social events throughout the country which continues friendships and maintains links with the school. The annual AGM and Reunion, which takes place at the school, is an ideal opportunity to keep in touch and all FPs receive annual copies of the school’s newsletters and FP Supplement.

What a great day we had on Saturday 29th September!

The AGM of the FP club was held in the new school dining room and was attended by many of the old familiar faces. At the meeting a presentation was made to Isobel Wilson who retired as Secretary/Treasurer of the Club after many years of loyal service. She was delighted with the painting of Beacon House which had been commissioned from the local artist, George Eadie of Dunblane.

When the business was dealt with we enjoyed a delicious lunch provided by the school caterers. The AGM may have been attended by the ‘old faithfuls’ but what was more exciting was to see the leavers from the past ten years arriving to enjoy their part of the reunion. Once again the caterers did us proud with drinks and canapés and irresistible strawberry tarts!

The old and new mixed well with lots of chat and tours of the school provided by senior pupils. We thank the pupils for giving up their time. This was definitely the right setting for the FP Club to meet, where we could appreciate the new buildings. A lot of past pupils would not recognise the school now; on the other hand the old haunts are still there to evoke many memories.

We intend this to be an annual event so hope to see you next time!
