Beaconhurst School

Eco-Activities

Beaconhurst achieved Bronze Award in March 2008.  To gain this recognition meant the setting up of an Eco Committee with representation from the Nursery, Junior and Senior Schools as well as carrying out a whole-school environmental audit.

Initiatives so far include:

  • mobile telephone recycling
  • plastic recycling throughout the school and in the dining hall
  • establishing a polytunnel in the nursery garden for growing fruit and vegetables
  • recycling paper and cardboard throughout the school.

We now intend to work towards the Silver Award next session.
