In S5 pupils undertake a wide range of activities and tasks which develop the knowledge and skill required to set up and run a business enterprise and prepare for the world of work. This course the leads on to Young Enterprise in S6. Topics covered in S5 Enterprise include:

Young Enterprise
S6 Pupils have the opportunity to form and run a business enterprise in accordance with the rules and regulations governing the Scottish Enterprise Young Enterprise national competition.
Study Skills
In S2 pupils undertake the ‘study skills’ course. The first term of the course is spent on giving pupils’ and introduction to business and then concentrating on specific study and learning skills.
Topics covered in Study Skills is as follows:

- The Importance of Homework
- Learning Styles/Left and Right Brain

Business Dynamics Course
A 2 day course run by Business Dynamics is offered to all S5 and S6 pupil in Beaconhurst. This is a Business Awareness Course designed by the Forth Valley Education Business Partnership and run in conjunction with local companies. The course aims to raise pupil awareness of the many facets of the business world as well as touching on the concept of wealth, the economy and society. The course programme is designed to be innovative, interactive, and fun; sessions are facilitated by local business people who cover issues such as teamwork, communication, problem-solving and decision-making.
